[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 30th that the "Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Package" set, created to help farms supplying school meals struggling due to COVID-19, sold out instantly and received unexpected positive responses.
The newly planned "Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Package" was prepared by Suncheon Local Food to support farms producing eco-friendly agricultural products for school meals, as the opening of schools at all levels has been delayed due to COVID-19.
The Suncheon Agricultural Technology Center initially produced 500 sets of the "Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Package" and conducted a pilot sale targeting city hall officials, which quickly sold out and received enthusiastic responses.
Additionally, the Suncheon Office of Education and Korea Electric Power Corporation Suncheon Branch each ordered 100 sets, and word of mouth has been increasing the number of customers.
Park Ju-bong, Director of the Agricultural Food Distribution Division, expressed gratitude to the citizens who responded, saying, "We planned the package sales exhibition through an emergency countermeasure meeting with the intention of overcoming the COVID-19 crisis together with farmers."
Meanwhile, Suncheon Local Food Co., Ltd. voluntarily gathered efforts from shipping farms and affiliated staff to send 2,000 packs of aronia juice and pear juice to the Daegu region.
