According to the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education on the 30th, an online survey on the pros and cons of reopening schools on April 6 was conducted from the 28th to 29th among 203,101 residents of the province, and 145,184 people, or 72%, expressed opposition.
Among parents, who made up 64% of all respondents, 74% opposed the reopening, and 73% of school staff also expressed concerns about the April 6 reopening.
By school level, opposition to reopening was highest among elementary schools at 76%, followed by kindergartens, special schools, middle schools, and high schools in that order.
An official from the Office of Education said, "The survey on school reopening was expanded beyond teachers to include students and parents," adding, "In case reopening is difficult, detailed guidelines for operating remote classes have been provided to all schools."
