Naejangsan National Park Baegam Office Conducts Safety Inspection During Thawing Season

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] The Baegamsa Office of Naejangsan National Park under the Korea National Park Service (Director Lee Jeon-ung) announced on the 30th that it conducted a safety inspection during the spring thaw and national safety diagnosis period on the 29th around Baekhakbong Peak.

The event involved about 20 participants, including the Baegamsa Office of Naejangsan National Park and the Gwangju Mountaineering Federation Rescue Team, who carried out rockfall removal work in steep slope sections prone to rockfall and conducted a safety accident prevention campaign.

Baek Chung-yeol, Head of the Exploration Facilities Division, said, “During the spring thaw, as the ground frozen in winter melts, the risk of collapse and rockfall increases. Therefore, when passing through rocky areas, you should move quickly, and if you notice any abnormal signs of collapse risk, please report immediately to the Baegamsa Office of Naejangsan National Park (061-392-7288).”
