The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for COVID-19 announced at a regular briefing on the afternoon of the 30th, "Compared to the previous day, 58 people who were quarantined at Jamieju Hospital were additionally confirmed positive." Among them, 53 are hospitalized patients and 5 are staff members. Of the total 133 confirmed cases, 127 are hospitalized patients and 6 are workers. The quarantine authorities and Daegu City are transferring confirmed patients to other hospitals and taking measures such as rearranging hospital rooms for inpatients to prevent further infections.
Jung Eun-kyung, head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, regarding the possibility of airborne infection through the building's air conditioning system, stated, "According to Daegu City's investigation, ventilation was not sufficiently carried out, and since the positivity rates of staff and hospitalized patients differ, it is difficult to consider it an infection caused by air. We believe it is more likely that transmission occurred through close contact between patients."
