[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Shin-won] A man in his 40s was arrested for killing a neighborhood junior he was drinking with by beating him for being rude.
According to the Gyeyang Police Station in Incheon on the 30th, Mr. A (42) was arrested on charges of injury resulting in death for repeatedly hitting the face of Mr. B (38), a neighborhood junior, at a motel in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, around 9 p.m. on the 26th.
Mr. A contacted 119 at 6:30 a.m. the next day, reporting that "I got injured after a fight while drinking," then fled but was caught by the police around 7 p.m. the same day at a PC cafe in Incheon.
The 119 emergency responders who arrived after the report immediately transported Mr. B to a nearby hospital, but he died.
Mr. A worked as a day laborer at construction sites and was drinking with Mr. B at the motel where he stayed.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I hit him after we argued because he was being rude."
A police official said, "It has not yet been confirmed whether Mr. A left Mr. B unattended for a long time after the assault or continued the assault," adding, "Considering the severity of Mr. A's crime and the risk of flight, we applied for an arrest warrant."
