[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] The meeting operation method of Wando-gun, which is participating in the government's high-intensity 'social distancing' campaign, is becoming a hot topic.
Wando-gun announced on the 30th that on the 26th, it attempted a meeting using the mobile messenger service (KakaoTalk) for the first time, with the heads of 40 related organizations in the jurisdiction directly participating.
This was in consideration of the fact that, following the guidelines issued to conduct face-to-face meetings via video or written form for the purpose of social distancing implemented since the 22nd, there is no video conferencing system between county-level institutions. Therefore, a group chat room was created to share requests and cooperation matters.
On that day, County Governor Shin Woo-cheol explained that the government's high-intensity 'social distancing' campaign is an inevitable measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection and the postponement of school openings, forming a consensus with related organizations.
He also emphasized cooperation in implementing a complete ban on inter-regional movement (travel outside the jurisdiction) for two weeks until the 5th of next month for employees of related organizations, along with urging them to "actively participate in the social distancing campaign and take the lead in revitalizing the local economy."
The heads of organizations attending the group chat meeting said, "This is the first time we have conducted a meeting like this," and added, "As social distancing is strengthened and face-to-face meetings cannot be held, mobile messenger meetings are a new method and a meaningful time to share information from each organization."
Meanwhile, Wando-gun issued an administrative order to control boarding and prohibit entry for tourists visiting Cheongsando, Nohwa, Bogil, and Soan Islands on the weekends of the 28th to 29th and the 4th to 5th of next month for two weeks to ensure the safety of residents and tourists from COVID-19.
Additionally, considering that hand washing is the most basic rule to prevent infectious diseases, plans are underway to install simple washbasins in line with the school opening schedule.
