[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] The Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB) announced on the 30th that it will hold an online live special lecture titled "Stories of COVID-19 and Viruses Told by Biotechnologists" at 2 p.m. on Thursday, the 2nd of next month.

This lecture, held as a special event for Science Month in April, was organized to help scientific understanding of infectious diseases caused by new and variant viruses, including the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Four biotechnologists from KRIBB will serve as speakers. Lectures include "Infectious Disease Guide" (Ryu Chung-min, Director of the Infectious Disease Research Center), "K-Kit, Korea's Diagnostic Technology That Surprised the World" (Lee Kyu-seon, Director of the Bio-Nano Research Center), "From Disease to Medicine: The Science of Vaccines" (Kim Doo-jin, Senior Researcher at the Infectious Disease Research Center), and "Virus! ALL KILL!" (Lee Kyung-ryun, Senior Researcher at the Experimental Animal Resource Center), followed by a Q&A session.

Kim Jang-sung, President of KRIBB, stated, "This special lecture was planned to enhance accessibility to scientific content by having researchers explain directly and communicate through a non-face-to-face method using an online platform, especially at a time when the entire nation faces difficulties accessing scientific content due to COVID-19."

Meanwhile, KRIBB has launched a "COVID-19 Research Information Portal" for researchers and provides various information about COVID-19, including introducing "COVID-19 A to Z" on the KRIBB website.
