[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Hampyeong Fire Station (Chief Im Donghyun) announced on the 30th that it will undertake special alert duty in preparation for spring forest fires, the Qingming Festival and Hansik, and the 21st National Assembly general election.
This special alert duty will continue until the completion of vote counting for the 21st general election on the 15th of next month.
The main details include ▲ fire station chiefs conducting command-line duty and establishing a rapid situation reporting system ▲ fire prevention broadcasts using fire trucks during patrol activities (3 times a day) ▲ tabletop drills and close deployment for election-related sites to prepare for and respond to fires and other accidents ▲ establishing a cooperative system with related agencies to build an initial response posture.
Im Donghyun, chief of Hampyeong Fire Station, said, “Due to the dry seasonal characteristics, spring is a time when fires frequently occur. To minimize damage caused by fires, we are devising on-site response measures such as evacuation and rescue drills,” adding, “We are also conducting risk factor removal and mobile patrols targeting 27 voting and counting locations for the upcoming general election.”
He continued, “We ask the residents to report in advance to 119 and the fire station if they intend to light fires, in order to prevent unnecessary fire truck dispatches.”
