Naver Launches Cloud Gaming Solution 'Gamepot' in Japan and Southeast Asia


[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver Business Platform (NBP) announced on the 30th that it has launched the Naver Cloud Platform 'GamePot' in the Japan and Singapore regions.


GamePot is a game solution of the Naver Cloud Platform that provides essential game functions in the form of a software development kit (SDK), enabling easy and fast implementation of common game features.


It allows easy implementation of various functions such as login authentication, payment features, push notifications, coupons, customer support, statistics, and advertising. It also supports big data analysis based on game user information and includes various features that enhance operational convenience. An NBP official stated, "Game companies can reduce development resources and costs."


GamePot, officially launched in November 2018 in the Korea region of Naver Cloud Platform, received positive responses from domestic game companies. Playwith's 'RohanM,' which caused a sensation by ranking second in domestic Android app market sales, successfully entered the Taiwan market last October using GamePot. About 70 game companies, including Gamepub's 'Legend of Mir 2' and 'SsangSamGukJi,' Entermate's 'DarkEden,' DNC of Storm's 'Ark Directive,' and Clgamez's 'Civilization War,' are also utilizing GamePot.


NBP explained that the launch in the Japan and Singapore regions of Naver Cloud Platform was made to help game companies targeting overseas markets use GamePot more effectively. Bae Joo-hwan, NBP deputy general manager, said, "Through this overseas launch, game companies aiming to enter the Japanese and Southeast Asian markets will be able to launch games faster and more stably."
