Big Data in Finance and Telecommunications at a Glance... Launch of Integrated Data Map Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] An integrated data map service that allows users to view the status of big data in 10 fields including finance, environment, culture, transportation, healthcare, distribution, telecommunications, small and medium enterprises, local economy, and forestry at a glance is launching.

The Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency announced on the 30th that the 'Big Data Platform Integrated Data Map' service will be provided starting from the 31st. The 'Data Map' service acts as a gateway where data users can perform integrated searches of data from 10 big data platforms in one place and easily find locations.

Specifically, it provides statistical information visualized by categorizing the data status produced and opened by the 10 big data platforms by field, type, topic, and region, and supports semantic search that analyzes the correlation between data based on user-entered search terms. Users can also receive reports in the form of case studies analyzed and visualized on various topics such as specialized fields and social issues.

In addition, the Ministry of Science and ICT improved user accessibility by organizing the homepage addresses of the 10 big data platforms uniformly and linking them to the 'Data Map.' Furthermore, by connecting to the COVID-19 homepage, timely information such as related information, reports, articles, and academic research materials is provided to the public. Visualized data such as the status of COVID-19 confirmed cases will also be added in the future.

An official from the Ministry of Science and ICT said, "Through the 'Data Map,' we have established a foundation that allows users to find and utilize data from 10 big data platforms easily and quickly," adding, "We plan to continuously expand connections with other platforms such as AI Hub, which provides integrated support for essential AI development infrastructure, and Data Store, which supports data distribution and transactions, by expanding content in the future."
