Free Rental of Disinfection Supplies at Gangnam-gu Community Service Center

Self-Disinfection at Home and Workplaces with Disinfectant Sprayers and Sanitizers... Continued Until COVID-19 Subsides

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) has been offering free rental of disinfectant sprayers and sterilizing disinfectants to local residents since the 18th to eliminate blind spots in quarantine that have been overlooked.

The district rents out one disinfectant sprayer and two spray-type sterilizing disinfectants through 22 community service centers so that residents can disinfect their homes and workplaces by themselves.

The disinfectant sprayer is worn on the shoulder and can disinfect an area of 661㎡ (approximately 200 pyeong) in 20 minutes.

Gangnam-gu residents or workers at local businesses who wish to rent the equipment must visit the nearest community service center with their ID card to apply, and the used items must be returned within one day.

The district is conducting proactive and intensive disinfection at over 2,500 locations, including social welfare facilities, densely populated areas, traditional markets, lodging businesses, the Daechi-dong academy district, and places visited by confirmed COVID-19 cases to prevent cluster infections.

Lee Su-jin, Director of the Resident Autonomy Division, said, “The free rental of quarantine supplies will continue until the COVID-19 situation calms down,” adding, “We hope residents will also practice social distancing and personal hygiene rules well to participate in preventing the spread in the community for a Gangnam where Me, You, and We come together.”
