Providing Local Companies with an Average of 1 Million Bidding Information Annually
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seongsu) will provide a ‘Customized Bidding Information Service’ from the 30th, allowing local businesses struggling due to COVID-19 and other difficulties to view nationwide bidding information all in one place.
As of 2018, among the 47,772 businesses in Songpa-gu, only 7,804 companies, or 16.3%, participate in bidding. Many fail to participate or win bids due to lack of information, and when using private bidding information systems to obtain information, it was found that an annual fee of about 280,000 KRW must be paid.
Accordingly, the district established the ‘Customized Bidding Information System’ to help local businesses develop new sales channels. This system provides real-time bidding information not only from domestic public institutions such as the Public Procurement Service, Korea Expressway Corporation, and Korea Electric Power Corporation, but also from overseas entities including the United States Forces Korea and the U.S. federal government. The district expects to provide about one million cases of information annually.
The ‘Songpa-gu Customized Bidding Information Service’ can be accessed through a dedicated website. Users must register as members, verify their business registration certificate, and receive approval before using the service.
The menu is divided into ▲Customized Service ▲Facility Bidding ▲Service Bidding ▲Goods Bidding ▲Sale Bidding ▲Overseas Bidding. Businesses can select information according to their industry, license, and areas of interest, and can also check analyzed information such as bid amounts, adjustment rates, estimated prices, and ordering agency bidding details through an in-house analysis program.
The dedicated website is accessible via mobile devices, and a real-time support system including a call center for continuous consultation is also in operation. The district plans to conduct practical training sessions twice a year with bidding experts to enhance work capabilities and professionalism for companies facing difficulties in the bidding process.
Mayor Park Seongsu of Songpa-gu said, “Even companies with the best products and technologies face growth limitations without sales channels,” adding, “Starting with the customized bidding information service, we will discover continuous sales and marketing support methods for businesses and strive to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to COVID-19.”
