Seoul City Shares Citizens' Voluntary Quarantine Cases and Online Talent Sharing
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government is promoting the "OnSeoul Campaign," which shares warmth online to spread "social distancing and emotional closeness" in response to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
On the 30th, Seoul announced that it has launched a webpage related to the OnSeoul Campaign on the citizen participation platform "Democracy Seoul" website.
This campaign aims to share citizens' warmth online to prevent social distancing from leading to social isolation. It consists of spreading voluntary quarantine cases by civil society and local communities (warm quarantine), sharing citizens' talents and life know-how online (warm connection), and encouraging participation in support activities for farmers and small business owners facing livelihood difficulties (warm economy).
Key cases introduced on the webpage include the "After You Campaign" by the Korea YWCA Federation, which donates masks to medical staff and neighbors in need, support videos for everyone fighting COVID-19, and volunteer disinfection services at multi-use facilities to prevent community infections.
In addition to cases collected by the city, citizens can also post their own quarantine activities and online talent donation cases related to COVID-19 response. Citizens wishing to post can submit via email (interval@seoul.go.kr, inquiry 02-2133-6534).
The city plans to continuously add content such as quarantine cases, online talent sharing like performances and lectures, and citizen participation methods to support farmers and small business owners, such as joint agricultural product purchases, to create a space for citizens' encouragement and support to overcome COVID-19.
Park Won-soon, Mayor of Seoul, said, "The OnSeoul Campaign is to share and spread citizens' voluntary responses amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation," and urged, "We ask many citizens to participate and lend their strength."
