Heo Jeong-im, Acting Chairperson of Hampyeong County Council, Joins Salary Return Initiative

Full Amount of 2.5 Million Won Returned for March Portion

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Hampyeong County Council announced on the 29th that Heo Jeong-im, Acting Chairperson (Vice Chairperson) of the Jeonnam Hampyeong County Council, has joined the wave of 'COVID-19' salary returns.

Amid the ongoing wave of public officials returning '30% of their salaries' to overcome the COVID-19 crisis, this is the first case among vice chairpersons nationwide.

Acting Chairperson Heo returned the full salary for March (2.5 million won).

Heo entered the 8th Hampyeong County Council as a proportional representative of the Democratic Party of Korea in the June 13 local elections.

After serving as the first half vice chairperson, since the 13th, following the resignation of former Chairperson Jeong Cheol-hee due to his candidacy in the Hampyeong County mayoral by-election, Heo has been acting as the chairperson of the county council, filling the vacancy.
