[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-in, the General Election Committee Chairman of the Future United Party who announced the 'Emergency Economic Measures,' will begin full-scale election support activities by visiting Hwang Kyo-ahn, the Future United Party leader's Jongno office on the 29th.
The Future United Party announced that Chairman Kim is scheduled to visit Leader Hwang's election office located in Jongno in the afternoon.
At the National Assembly that day, Chairman Kim stated, "The emergency economic measures for COVID-19 should primarily focus on directly, immediately, and continuously compensating the wages of small businesses, self-employed individuals, and workers until the disaster situation ends," emphasizing the need for emergency measures.
He said, "In the current situation, a significant portion of the 512 trillion won budget will remain unused anyway," and added, "The government and the National Assembly should promptly reallocate about 20% of this year's budget to emergency COVID-19 measures, securing about 100 trillion won in resources first."
He continued, "This general election is the last exit to return to the path of saving the country," citing the opposition party's 1950s election slogan, 'We can't live like this, let's change!'
