[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Amid the arrest of Jo Joo-bin (25), the operator of the 'Doctor's Room' who threatened minors and women to produce and distribute sexual exploitation materials in the 'Nth Room' case, a new chatroom called 'Doctor Replay Room' has emerged, sparking public outrage. It is currently unclear what kind of videos or materials have been distributed in this room. Some speculate that it might simply be an imitation of the 'Doctor's Room.'
However, before confirming the existence of the room, criticism is growing that it ignores the severe suffering of the female victims and trivializes the incident. Women's groups are urging strict punishment for all participants and accomplices involved in the 'Nth Room' case.
At around 1:10 a.m. on the 29th, several images were posted in a Telegram chatroom. The released photos show someone posting a Telegram ID along with the message 'Doctor Replay Room Entry Inquiry.'
A Telegram ID serves as a kind of gateway to move into a chatroom. By communicating with the room creator through this ID and conducting financial transactions, one can receive a link to enter various chatrooms, including the 'Nth Room.'
The person described the chatroom they created with the phrase "-2020.3.28 Telegram Doctor's Room Revival-" and explained, "This is a Doctor's Room replay service operated by Doctor's staff."
Regarding videos such as sexual exploitation materials, they explained, "It includes materials up to just before the Doctor was arrested, including currently leaked Doctor materials and unpublished materials from the OO room." They added, "The entry fee for the Doctor Replay Room is OO million won. The Nth Room replay and Lolita Room are also serviced at OO million won each."
They further stated, "Unlike the previous Doctor's Room, our replay room has no identity verification at all," and explained, "Our room prioritizes protecting the purchaser's identity, and payment methods are not bank transfers or cultural gift certificates but OOOO cash or △△△ only."

Summarizing the situation, it appears to be an 'Nth Room' in essence, selling sexual exploitation materials that were possessed by 'Doctor' (Telegram nickname) Jo Joo-bin, who was arrested on charges of producing and distributing sexual exploitation materials of female victims.
However, it has not been confirmed whether this room actually exists or whether sexual exploitation materials were distributed. The Telegram ID account he disclosed currently appears to be nonexistent.
As a result, some believe it might just be an attempt to imitate the 'Doctor's Room' operated by Jo Joo-bin. Nevertheless, there are continuous criticisms that this itself should be condemned. It is being criticized as 'secondary harm' mocking the victims.
A 30-year-old office worker, Mr. A, said, "Whether out of mere curiosity or parody, opening such a room is a clear case of secondary harm," and raised his voice, "They used the exact terms related to the crimes committed by the perpetrator. They should be investigated and punished."
Another office worker in their 20s, Mr. B, also expressed, "I think this scene best explains the perspective on the Nth Room case," and vented, "All those involved in the Nth Room must be severely punished so that such incidents never happen again." He added, "Not only should all participants in the Nth Room case be punished, but this case should also serve as an opportunity to reconsider women's rights."
Experts emphasized that all those involved in the 'Nth Room' case must be severely punished. The 'Telegram Sexual Exploitation Joint Countermeasure Committee' (Joint Committee), formed by nine organizations including the Korea Cyber Sexual Violence Response Center, held a press conference on the afternoon of the 26th in front of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Gwanghwamun, Jongno-gu, Seoul, stating, "Strict accountability must be demanded from all involved in sexual exploitation, including 'Doctor' Jo Joo-bin, and active protective measures for victims must be implemented."
Attorney Jo Eun-ho of the Women's Rights Committee of the Lawyers for a Democratic Society stated that people who paid membership fees to enter the room and watch videos or incited sadistic acts, as well as those who viewed sexual exploitation videos in preview rooms, can be punished under relevant laws.
Attorney Jo said, "Paid members joined the chatrooms by paying between 200,000 to 1.5 million won and supported Jo's crimes by watching sexual exploitation videos," adding, "Regardless of the degree of involvement, most paid members are considered 'accomplices' to the acts of Jo and other operators."
He continued, "Despite existing laws, digital sexual crime punishments have not been properly enforced due to low gender sensitivity among investigative agencies, courts, and defense attorneys," and criticized, "All three institutions overlooked that digital sexual crimes are 'violence' against vulnerable victims and dismissed them as mere obscenity."
The Joint Committee announced plans to build a network supporting female victims and continue legislative activities to strongly respond to digital-based sexual exploitation.
