[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] Freelance journalist Kim Woong (50) said he did not believe the words of Jo Joo-bin (24), the operator of the 'Baksa Room,' who hinted that Son Seok-hee (64), CEO and president of JTBC, had an illegitimate child.

Kim claimed in his live broadcast on the afternoon of the 28th, "Jo Joo-bin sent me a message via Telegram around 10 p.m. on April 16, 2017, saying that a young woman and a child were together in Son's car parked next to a church in Gwacheon."

Kim added, "Jo Joo-bin said the woman was 'someone everyone would know' and implied that Son had an illegitimate child, but I thought Son was not that kind of person, so I did not believe it."

Kim's remarks appear to be a rebuttal to Son's statement on the 27th at the JTBC headquarters, where Son said in front of some reporters, "I believed Jo Joo-bin's claim that Samsung was behind Kim."

Son reportedly told his reporters, "Jo showed evidence of his acquaintance with Kim and threatened by saying 'Samsung is behind Kim Woong.' When I started to think that Samsung was behind them, I was unsure whether to report it."

Kim strongly denied the 'Samsung backing theory,' saying, "It is not true. They are making me suffer by quoting the words of the devil-like Jo Joo-bin, that is, quoting a third party."

He also said, "If I were under Samsung's orders, it would be a serious problem, so what does it mean that I did not report it?" and added, "I cannot understand how the largest company in Korea, Samsung, ordered to kill family members and harm me by instructing Kim Woong and Jo Joo-bin, yet I did not report it."

Kim is currently on trial for attempted extortion, accused of demanding employment and money from Son while threatening to report an article about a collision accident with a tow truck that occurred in Gwacheon in April 2017.
