[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT has exchanged a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sinsung ENG to jointly develop projects related to the Renewable Energy Certification System and RE100.
KT will leverage its existing energy business experience and expertise in energy storage systems (ESS), solar power, fuel cells, and energy efficiency to discover and develop business opportunities related to RE100. Utilizing KT's artificial intelligence (AI) technology, it plans to provide RE100-related services such as control monitoring, revenue analysis, and scheduling optimization.
Sinsung ENG plans to strengthen its competitiveness in RE100-related businesses by utilizing next-generation power systems such as microgrids, which enable self-sufficient power supply in small local areas using solar power generation and ESS applied at its Yongin site, as well as factory energy management system (FEMS) solutions for improving factory operation efficiency.
Kim Dong-seop, CEO of Sinsung ENG, stated, “Based on Sinsung ENG’s technological competitiveness in renewable energy and RE100 solutions, we can strategically collaborate with KT to lead new markets in renewable energy.” Moon Sung-wook, Head of KT’s Corporate New Business Division, said, “KT will strive to promote innovation in new energy markets and create new customer-centric value.”
