[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] A British man in his 30s living in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, who entered the country with symptoms suspected of COVID-19, was found to have come into contact with a total of 23 people while traveling through four cities without wearing a mask for five days before being confirmed positive.

According to the movement path of the British man A (Suwon case number 27) disclosed by Suwon City on the 29th, he entered Incheon International Airport at 8:45 a.m. on the 20th after visiting Thailand. He showed coughing symptoms on the 14th, and the infection route is presumed to be Thailand.

After arriving at the airport, Mr. A took a limousine bus to Yongin, then took a bus to get off at Hwanggol Village bus stop in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon City, and walked to his officetel in Yeongtong 1-dong.

On the next day, the 21st, at 10:57 a.m., he traveled to another region by a friend's car, then arrived at Suwon Station by subway at 7:15 p.m., transferred to the Bundang Line, got off at Cheongmyeong Station, and walked home.

On the 22nd, at 5:51 p.m., he rode a motorcycle to Suwon Bandal Park in Yeongtong 3-dong and returned home at 9:15 p.m.

On the 23rd at 3:30 p.m., he visited the Yeongtong-gu Public Health Center screening clinic by motorcycle, underwent specimen collection, returned home, and then rode a bicycle to visit another region. Although those tested are required to self-quarantine, he violated this rule and moved around Suwon City and nearby cities.

On the morning of the 24th, the day after the test, at 9:40 a.m., Mr. A visited Sky Screen Golf Zone in Yeongtong 3-dong, and 3 hours and 20 minutes later, at 12:50 p.m., he was confirmed positive and transferred to Seongnam Hospital of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.

Suwon City and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency confirmed that this man traveled through four cities?Suwon, Yongin, Gwacheon, and Seoul?without wearing a mask from the time he arrived at the airport until he was confirmed positive.

Even after undergoing specimen testing, he did not follow self-quarantine rules and used indoor sports facilities frequented by many people, resulting in a total of six contacts in Suwon alone.

Including contacts in Yongin, Gwacheon, and Seoul, the total number of people classified as contacts of Mr. A is 23.

Fortunately, none of them have tested positive, but all are currently self-quarantined without being able to live normal lives.
