[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Hyesoo] On the 28th episode of 'Traveler - Argentina,' Kang Ha-neul, Ahn Jae-hong, and Ong Seong-wu were shown making 'Jjapaguri,' featured in the movie 'Parasite,' and going camping.
Last week, surprised by the cheap price, Kang Ha-neul, Ahn Jae-hong, and Ong Seong-wu purchased beef by different cuts and started making 'Jjapaguri' at their accommodation. Ahn Jae-hong generously added meat into the pot and stir-fried it. Kang Ha-neul admired Ahn Jae-hong's skilled cooking. When Ahn Jae-hong swirled olive oil in the pan, Kang Ha-neul asked why he did that, and Ahn Jae-hong replied, "The olive oil doesn't come out well otherwise," which made everyone laugh.
With the deliciously finished 'Jjapaguri' in the center, Kang Ha-neul, Ahn Jae-hong, and Ong Seong-wu began their eating show in earnest. Kang Ha-neul kept clicking his tongue, saying, "Who puts prime rib in Jjapagetti? That doesn't make sense." Ahn Jae-hong said, "The meat is so tender," and Kang Ha-neul complimented him, "That's because you cook so well, hyung."
Seeing Kang Ha-neul devouring the food with black bean sauce smeared on his chin without realizing it, Ahn Jae-hong wiped Kang Ha-neul's chin, and Kang Ha-neul responded with a famous line from 'When the Camellia Blooms,' saying, "You did it first," which made the group burst into laughter. After finishing the meal, the three decided to play rock-paper-scissors to decide who would do the dishes.
At first, it seemed like Ahn Jae-hong was at a disadvantage, but eventually Ong Seong-wu was chosen and had to do most of the dishes alone. Kang Ha-neul and Ahn Jae-hong spent a leisurely time outside the accommodation looking at the night sky. After Ong Seong-wu finished the dishes, Ahn Jae-hong looked at the remaining meat and said, "I’ll have steak for breakfast. There’s 1.8kg of meat left."
On the 8th day of the trip, in El Calafate, Ahn Jae-hong said, "It takes 30 hours to get here, so I don’t want to waste time," and started a walk. Meanwhile, he noted, "There are no small dogs here, only big ones." When the production team asked, "If you leave home for a long time, who takes care of your cat?" Ahn Jae-hong revealed, "I left it with a close director couple."
After the walk, Ahn Jae-hong began preparing for camping with Kang Ha-neul and Ong Seong-wu. First, the three went to rent a car and rented a manual transmission vehicle. Kang Ha-neul, who took the wheel as the first driver, was not familiar with manual driving and repeatedly turned the engine off and on, making the group nervous. However, he soon adapted and started driving smoothly.
Then, after purchasing a tent, clothes, and groceries needed for camping, the three left for camping on the 9th day, one day later. Ong Seong-wu admired Kang Ha-neul’s improved driving skills, saying, "You got better in just one day." The three decided to go straight to La Leona first. On the way, when Kang Ha-neul glanced at a motorcycle running behind the car and guessed it correctly, Ong Seong-wu was surprised. Kang Ha-neul said, "I have no interest in cars, only motorcycles."
On the endlessly stretching road with no cars in sight, the three spotted an animal. Ong Seong-wu shouted, "Llama!" and everyone echoed it, but the animal was actually a guanaco. Nevertheless, Ong Seong-wu kept saying, "Ma! Are you confident?" which made everyone laugh.
Finally arriving at La Leona, the three felt delighted seeing a sign indicating the distance to Seoul. La Leona is famous as the location for the movie 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,' starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Ahn Jae-hong said, "I didn’t know Butch and Sundance were real people," and mentioned the 'Sundance Film Festival,' named after the movie’s protagonist, Robert Redford, expressing amazement.
Next, Ahn Jae-hong took responsibility for driving. Under Kang Ha-neul’s coaching, Ahn Jae-hong slowly turned the steering wheel to get a feel for it. Once he started driving properly, Ahn Jae-hong reassured Ong Seong-wu, saying, "Seong-wu, you don’t have to look so worried." Ong Seong-wu smiled and said, "I’m fine."
After Ahn Jae-hong, Kang Ha-neul took the wheel and drove the car as the world’s fifth largest ice field, Fitz Roy, gradually appeared. As Fitz Roy came closer, the three repeatedly said, "It’s really amazing," unable to close their mouths. Eventually, they stopped the car and got out to fully enjoy the spectacular view.
