[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Japanese model and actress Mizuhara Kiko raised her voice in criticism toward people who do not practice social distancing despite the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).


On the 27th, Mizuhara Kiko posted a photo on her Instagram, pointing out, "Have a sense of crisis. Many young people in their teens to 40s are also becoming seriously ill."


She said, "You may have unknowingly transmitted the (COVID-19) virus to many people," and emphasized, "I received questions from foreign friends asking, 'Why is everyone in Japan going out to play?' It is irrational behavior amid the global COVID-19 pandemic."


She continued, "Let's not act recklessly for our own enjoyment," encouraging participation in social distancing.


The post has since been deleted.


Meanwhile, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the 27th, as of 2 p.m., the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Japan was 2,117, with 57 deaths reported. The number of confirmed cases on the Japanese cruise ship was 712, with 7 deaths recorded.
