[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Kim Yongjae, chairman of Minwoo Tax Corporation, has been newly appointed as an outside director of Sebang.
On the 27th, Sebang held its regular shareholders' meeting and approved five agenda items as originally proposed: ▲approval of the 2019 financial statements ▲partial amendment of the articles of incorporation ▲appointment of inside and outside directors ▲appointment of audit committee members ▲approval of the limit on directors' remuneration.
Outside director Kim Yongjae is an expert in accounting and tax law, having served in various roles including the Inspection Officer at the National Tax Service Audit Office, Administrative Officer at the Presidential Secretariat, Head of the National Tax Service Operations Support Division, and Taxpayer Protection Officer at the Central Regional National Tax Service. He currently serves as chairman of Minwoo Tax Corporation and is also an outside director at Hanwha Investment & Securities.
Since taking its first step into the port stevedoring business in 1965, Sebang has grown into a leading comprehensive logistics company in South Korea, establishing a strong reputation. Above all, Lee Sangwoong, chairman of Sebang Group and concurrently president of the Korea Rugby Union, is widely known for his passion for rugby. Thanks to Chairman Lee's unwavering support for rugby, the South Korean rugby team qualified for the Olympic finals for the first time in 96 years since rugby was introduced, earning a spot at the Tokyo Olympics.
Additionally, Sebang has added new business objectives to expand sales and diversify operations, including ▲waste collection, transportation, treatment, and raw material recycling ▲recycled materials and other goods ▲specialized wholesale trade ▲cargo packaging, inspection, and weighing services ▲packaging and filling services ▲container storage ▲container leasing.
