[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Kim Se-ui, the representative of the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute' (Gaseyeon), has been accused of engaging in prostitution. A complaint requesting an investigation into Kim Se-ui's alleged involvement in prostitution has also been submitted to the prosecution. Regarding the prostitution allegations against Kim Se-ui, the 'Gaseyeon' side dismissed them as "nonsense."
YouTuber Lee Jin-ho recently submitted a complaint to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, along with his legal representative, Attorney Bae Geun-jo of the law firm Everyone's Law, requesting an investigation into Kim Se-ui for violating the Act on the Punishment of Acts of Arranging Sexual Traffic.
Everyone's Law reportedly secured testimonies from women working at entertainment establishments who entertained Kim Se-ui and other 'Gaseyeon' associates, along with related materials, and submitted them to the prosecution.
Attorney Bae told a media outlet, "An investigation of entertainment establishments located in Busan is necessary to determine whether Kim Se-ui and others were involved in prostitution," adding, "Depending on the prosecutor's judgment, the case may be transferred to Busan."
As the controversy spread, the 'Gaseyeon' side expressed their position during a live broadcast titled '[Shocking Exclusive] Nth Room Celebrity Sports Star!!' on the 26th. When a netizen asked about this, the 'Gaseyeon' side refuted it as a "bizarre story."
Attorney Kang Yong-seok said, "There is a strange place attacking us. It seems they are spreading bizarre stories. It’s nonsense. It’s funny to respond to each one, so I don’t speak. If I mention it, they might look it up, so I don’t. Blocking comments is the answer," dismissing the allegations.
The YouTube channel 'Gaseyeon,' hosted by Kim Se-ui, Kang Yong-seok, and former entertainment reporter Kim Yong-ho, claimed last December that singer Kim Gun-mo frequented entertainment establishments and sexually assaulted workers there.
On the 25th, when this case was sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment, they mentioned, "There will be a lot of articles."
Meanwhile, Kim Se-ui is a former MBC reporter. After resigning in August 2018, he has been operating 'Gaseyeon' together with Attorney Kang Yong-seok.
In October of the same year, he was tried for defamation by posting false information related to the family of the late Baek Nam-gi and was sentenced to a fine of 7 million won for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.
