On the 26th, The Plus Media, Song Ha-ye's agency, dismissed the controversy by stating, "We inform you that the KakaoTalk conversation contents revealed in relation to the current allegations of music chart manipulation are completely unknown to the agency."
They added, "We have never requested or attempted any manipulation. The ongoing allegations are entirely unfounded, and our agency is suffering serious defamation. We will respond strongly through legal channels."
Earlier, a media outlet reported that it had obtained some KakaoTalk messages suggesting that Song Ha-ye attempted to manipulate the music charts to place her single 'Nisosek' in the top ranks of music sites in May of last year.
Song Ha-ye was directly mentioned by singer Park Kyung in November last year when he spoke about allegations of music chart manipulation.
