On the 26th, a media outlet reported that Lee Yi-kyung rescued a citizen who was trying to throw themselves from a vehicle on Hannam Bridge in the early morning of the 19th.
According to the media, a witness explained the situation at the time: "A truck driver got out and stopped the citizen, and Lee Yi-kyung, who was driving a vehicle behind the truck, immediately got out. He was trying hard with the truck driver to hold the intoxicated citizen at the scene."
The witness said, "Lee Yi-kyung tightly held the intoxicated person who was trying to jump into the road and the river, almost restraining him, and talked to him for a long time. Everyone was startled and scared, unable to get out of their cars and just pacing, but Lee Yi-kyung got out without hesitation." He added, "He took off his own clothes to put on the intoxicated person who was shivering from the cold and held him to prevent any further attempts. Lee Yi-kyung's courage saved a life."
The citizen rescued by Lee Yi-kyung has been confirmed to be safe.
Lee Yi-kyung was also appointed as a 112 Public Relations Ambassador at the '62nd Anniversary of 112 Day' ceremony hosted by the National Police Agency in November last year.
