[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Council announced on the 26th that it has donated 30 million won to the Gyeongbuk Social Welfare Community Chest to help overcome the damage caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This donation was prepared by the provincial council members to participate in overcoming the COVID-19 damage.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Council plans to promptly handle the supplementary budget of 711 billion won, urgently allocated for quarantine efforts to eradicate COVID-19 and support for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners, as well as the ordinance for resident livelihood stabilization support targeting low-income groups struggling to maintain their livelihoods, at the extraordinary session.
Jang Kyung-sik, Chairman of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council, said, "We will actively cooperate with the executive branch at the council level so that support, although insufficient, can be promptly provided to the residents who are facing threats to their survival due to COVID-19 damage."
