Osang Jiel Subsidiary Collaborates with Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Successfully Export COVID-19 Diagnostic Kits

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Osang Healthcare, a subsidiary of Osang Jaeil, announced on the 26th that it has signed a contract to supply COVID-19 diagnostic kits to the Moroccan government in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Amid the recent domestic COVID-19 pandemic, countries around the world are making every effort to secure COVID-19 prevention and diagnostic kits. The excellence of domestic diagnostic kits has been highly praised worldwide, leading to a flood of requests for COVID-19 diagnostic kit support to the Korean government. So far, the Korean government has received support requests for diagnostic kits from 47 countries.

An Osang Healthcare official stated, "While closely cooperating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and negotiating with over 60 countries worldwide, the Ambassador of Morocco to Korea personally visited, leading to a swift contract conclusion." The official added, "In addition to the contract to supply kits for 100,000 people signed with Morocco on this day, the company decided to provide diagnostic kits for 10,000 people free of charge on a humanitarian basis."

Notably, this export deal is being discussed in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a special flight to repatriate Korean nationals residing in Africa, with the Moroccan government directly transporting the kits. Osang Healthcare is also negotiating kit supply with other countries' embassies alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Recently, Osang Healthcare signed an export contract for 2 million COVID-19 diagnostic kits with a Romanian state-owned enterprise through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' mediation. A company official said, "As domestic COVID-19 diagnostic kits receive global acclaim, we are receiving export inquiries from over 60 countries worldwide, and we have completed capacity expansion to ensure no supply issues for additional large orders."

Meanwhile, Osang Jaeil's stock price surged close to the upper limit, trading at 12,650 KRW, up 28.04% compared to the previous trading day during intraday trading.
