[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Two men in their 20s were arrested by the police for receiving and selling child sexual exploitation materials on Telegram.
The Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency's Special Investigation Unit for Digital Sex Crimes announced on the 26th that they have booked two individuals, including A (20), on charges of selling child pornography on the messenger app Telegram (violation of the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse).
From December last year until last month, A received child sexual exploitation materials in the Telegram chat room called 'n-beonbang,' where such materials involving minors were shared, and sold them to dozens of people, reportedly earning a total of about 13 million KRW.
B (21), who sold child sexual exploitation materials in the same manner as A, was also apprehended earlier this month.
The police are tracking those who purchased the obscene materials from them and are conducting investigations in cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies.
