Gyeonggi Office of Education to Pilot Non-Face-to-Face Remote Education

Gyeonggi Office of Education to Pilot Non-Face-to-Face Remote Education Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education

[Asia Economy (Uijeongbu) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will pilot non-face-to-face remote education at 367 schools for one week ahead of the new semester starting on the 6th of next month.

This is a simulation to prepare for situations where in-person learning becomes impossible due to confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) occurring at schools after the semester begins.

During this period, after identifying issues at the pilot schools, improvement measures will be developed and applied to general schools in actual situations to minimize learning gaps.

The Gyeonggi Office of Education designated 367 schools, including 148 elementary schools, 112 middle schools, and 107 high schools, through applications for remote education leading schools.

Students at these schools will participate in interactive real-time classes, one-way learning content classes, and assignment-based classes according to the learning plans provided by their schools.

Teachers will manage attendance and learning while communicating with students.

The Gyeonggi Office of Education plans to discuss issues and solutions regarding weekly timetable operation by grade and class, management of learning attendance, and support for students who have difficulty participating in remote education during this period.

Additionally, the results of the remote education pilot operation will be analyzed and used to find the direction of future education in the long term.
