[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] Kim Won-i, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for Mokpo City in the 21st general election, has registered as a candidate and officially entered the election campaign.

After completing his candidate registration at the Mokpo City Election Commission on the morning of the 26th, candidate Kim Won-i stated, "A new wind of change is blowing in Mokpo right now," and added, "I will gather the aspirations of citizens who desire change and a new Mokpo to achieve an overwhelming victory in the 21st general election, completing a 'new Mokpo' and a 'Democratic Party victory.'"

Candidate Kim Won-i revealed a blueprint for a new Mokpo, saying, "Mokpo is the starting point of air, sea, rail, and road routes and the capital of modern historical culture. I will seek economic growth opportunities by utilizing cultural assets and geographical advantages."

He continued, "As a ruling party lawmaker, I will secure full budget support for the redevelopment of the old downtown area through the development of the Mokpo Station area, designation of the old downtown modern historical culture special zone, and creation of Mokpo-style jobs, and together with citizens, I will definitely create a new Mokpo."

In particular, he emphasized, "I will do my best with humble passion throughout the entire election process held under the serious situation of the COVID-19 spread," and added, "Together with the citizens of Mokpo, we will surely overcome this through social trust, cooperation, and solidarity."

Candidate Kim Won-i requested, "I ask for the participation of Mokpo citizens in the election revolution for the success of the Moon Jae-in administration, created by the Candlelight Revolution, and the victory of the Democratic Party, starting from Mokpo, the root of the Democratic Party," and urged, "With pride in 'Mokpo is the best,' let us wipe away the 'tears of Mokpo' and create together a new 'spring day of Mokpo' full of abundance and hope."
