[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] BMW Korea announced on the 26th that it will officially launch the new X3 xDrive30e, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model of the X3.
The BMW New X3 xDrive30e is the first PHEV model of the X3, featuring a powerful gasoline engine and a high-voltage lithium battery that deliver excellent efficiency and the unique driving pleasure characteristic of BMW. In addition, the battery is installed under the rear seats, securing the largest cargo space among BMW PHEV models.
BMW Korea has added the plug-in hybrid to the New X3 lineup, which consists of existing diesel and gasoline engines, offering a total of seven trims depending on the drivetrain and detailed options.
The New X3 xDrive30e is equipped with a 12.0kWh high-voltage battery, allowing it to travel up to 31 km in pure electric mode on a single charge and reach speeds of up to 135 km/h. Charging the battery takes about 6 hours using a household socket, and it can be fully charged in 3 hours and 30 minutes with BMW’s dedicated charger, the i Wallbox (charging power 3.7kW).
Additionally, depending on the situation, the internal combustion engine and electric motor can operate together or independently to achieve optimal efficiency. Thanks to this, long-distance driving is possible without worrying about battery charging, and it achieves the highest fuel efficiency and lowest carbon dioxide emissions in the X3 lineup, allowing owners to enjoy various low-emission vehicle benefits such as congestion charge reductions and 50% discounts on public parking.
The New X3 xDrive30e delivers a maximum system output of 292 horsepower (electric motor 109 hp, gasoline engine 184 hp) through a combination of a 4-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h. The combined fuel efficiency is 13.6 km/ℓ.
The BMW New X3 xDrive30e is offered in two trims based on design and detailed convenience features: xLine and M Sport Package. The price is 73.5 million KRW for the New X3 xDrive30e xLine and 76.5 million KRW for the New X3 xDrive30e M Sport Package.
