[Public Officials' Assets] 'Multi-homeowner' Choi Ki-young, Minister of Science and ICT, 10.76 Billion KRW... Included in Top 10 Wealthiest

According to the "2020 Regular Asset Changes" disclosed by the Government Ethics Committee for Public Officials on the 26th through the official gazette, Minister Choi reported this asset scale including the assets of his spouse and children.

Minister Choi owns two apartments jointly registered with his spouse in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, as well as a mixed-use building and a factory under his spouse's name, valued at approximately 7.3 billion KRW. The building prices remained the same as last year. The total deposit amount is about 3,460,890,000 KRW.

This places him within the top 10 among 1,865 high-ranking public officials. Minister Choi is also listed as a multi-homeowner.

Jeong Byeong-seon, First Vice Minister, reported assets of 439,690,000 KRW, an increase of 63,090,000 KRW compared to the previous year. The actual transaction prices of detached houses and apartments (pre-sale rights) he owns in Seoul and Sejong City increased by 129,200,000 KRW over the past year. Vice Minister Jeong was also confirmed to be a multi-homeowner.

Jang Seok-young, Second Vice Minister, reported assets totaling 829,470,000 KRW, including farmland located in Mungyeong and Yecheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and a detached house under his name.

Kim Seong-su, Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Headquarters, reported assets totaling 1,186,590,000 KRW, including a detached house and apartment under his name, an increase of 129,290,000 KRW compared to one year ago. The actual transaction price of the apartment jointly owned by him and his spouse in Seongnam City rose by 117,500,000 KRW, and deposits also increased.

Among the heads of affiliated organizations under the Ministry of Science and ICT, Kim Chang-yong, President of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), reported assets exceeding 13.3 billion KRW, making him the wealthiest.
