Just One Phone Number for PASS... Login Stress Disappears

On the 25th, the three mobile carriers SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus announced the launch of a mobile phone number login service based on the identity verification app 'PASS'. They have integrated the identity verification brands, which were previously offered under different names such as T Authentication, into PASS.

Customers using smartphones registered under their own name will be able to conveniently use services partnered with 'PASS' without entering separate IDs and passwords. When selecting mobile phone number login on the service screen, the 'PASS' app automatically launches, allowing easy access by choosing either biometric authentication (fingerprint or iris) or a six-digit PIN number verification.

The three carriers evaluated, "It is as convenient as easy login using social media accounts like Google, Facebook, and Naver, but with multiple security systems in place, it performs identity and device verification every time a user logs in, making it more secure than social media login." These companies built the mobile phone number login service in collaboration with fintech security company Aton.

Companies and organizations wishing to apply the ‘PASS’ mobile phone number login service can integrate the API, which is publicly available on the developer center website (developers.passlogin.com), with their applications or use it through partnerships with the three carriers.

The three carriers plan to enhance customer convenience and expand the service ecosystem through partnerships with various business sectors in the future. As of February, the number of PASS subscribers reached 28 million.
