[Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] Moon Sung-hyuk, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, who has been in self-quarantine due to close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, tested negative again in a retest. Accordingly, Minister Moon will return to work normally starting from the 25th.


On the 25th, a Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries official stated, "Minister Moon was classified as a close contact of an employee who previously tested positive for COVID-19 and handled work remotely while self-quarantining from the 13th to the 24th. Since the retest also confirmed a negative result, he will complete self-quarantine and return to work normally starting today."


From the 25th to the 27th, video conferences will be held with representatives from the marine and fisheries industry and heads of public institutions. All meetings will be chaired by Minister Moon to review the implementation status of government support measures related to COVID-19. On his first day back, Minister Moon will hold consecutive video meetings with related organizations to check the government support status in the marine and fisheries sector related to COVID-19. Then, on the afternoon of the 26th, he will hold a video conference with export processing and distribution industries, producer groups, and experts to discuss additional support measures for the fisheries sector and ways to promote seafood consumption. On the 27th, a video conference with heads of 19 public institutions under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and 3 affiliated organizations will be held to discuss plans to revitalize seafood consumption promotion.
