According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun on the 24th, the two companies plan to make mutual investments worth 200 billion yen (approximately 2.26 trillion won).
The two companies also agreed to jointly develop technologies such as autonomous driving utilizing telecommunications.
Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota Motor Corporation, said at a press conference that day, "The evolution of software is surpassing the level of hardware," and added, "By applying software to automobiles, we can further leverage Toyota's strengths."
