[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] Koo Yoon-cheol, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, stated on the 23rd, "From now on, the 'Emergency Fiscal Management Inspection Meeting' will be held frequently until the crisis is overcome to promptly check the progress of fiscal policies."


On this day, Vice Minister Koo made these remarks while presiding over the '6th Fiscal Management Inspection Meeting' at the Government Complex Sejong.


Vice Minister Koo explained, "Currently, the government is operating under an emergency government system to respond to the emergency economic situation," adding, "Just as the 'Economic Vitality Measures Meeting cum Economic Relations Ministers' Meeting' has been converted and operated as the 'Crisis Management Measures Meeting,' the Fiscal Management Inspection Meeting will also be converted and operated as the Emergency Fiscal Management Inspection Meeting."


The Ministry of Economy and Finance plans to immediately resolve execution difficulties through the Emergency Fiscal Management Inspection Meeting. Vice Minister Koo emphasized, "Each ministry and local government should inspect whether livelihood stabilization programs are properly functioning on the ground according to the needs of the people," and added, "If any execution difficulties are found, please promptly propose institutional improvement measures so that we can closely cooperate to resolve them together in future meetings."


Along with this, Vice Minister Koo checked the execution status of fiscal projects such as the supplementary budget and urged each ministry to execute more than 75% of the supplementary budget within two months, as well as to ensure the smooth execution of the already prepared contingency funds and existing budgets.
