[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lee Dong-hoon, General Manager, has been appointed as the new CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd.
Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. announced on the 23rd that it held the '25th General Shareholders' Meeting of 2020' and approved the financial statements and the appointment of inside directors.
Subsequently, at the extraordinary management board meeting held after the shareholders' meeting, General Manager Lee was appointed as CEO.
The new CEO Lee was born in Masan and majored in Korean Language and Literature at Hongik University. He joined Shinsegae Co., Ltd. in 1993.
He has been in charge of planning work at the forefront of marketing as the Marketing Manager of Shinsegae Masan Branch. He served as Senior Deputy General Manager of the New Business Headquarters at Hanam Branch, and later as Branch Manager of Uijeongbu and Yeongdeungpo branches. Within the Shinsegae Group, he is known as a key talent well-versed in marketing and new business fields.
CEO Lee said, “I will strive to grow together with the region, befitting the status of the region's number one store,” and added, “Through proactive changes rather than complacency, we will continuously improve to strengthen the department store's competitiveness by attracting differentiated brands in line with the latest trends, so that visitors will have no inconvenience while shopping.”
Meanwhile, Park In-cheol has been newly appointed as Managing Director of Gwangju Shinsegae.
New Managing Director Park is from Damyang and majored in Public Administration at Chonnam National University. He joined Shinsegae Co., Ltd. in 1996.
