An Octogenarian with Underlying Conditions such as Hypertension and Diabetes Passes Away
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Three patients in their 80s who were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Daegu have died consecutively.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 deaths in South Korea has risen to 109.
According to Daegu City on the 22nd, at 8:02 a.m. that day, COVID-19 confirmed patient A (84) passed away at Kyungpook National University Hospital. Patient A, who had been hospitalized at Seongseo Hoho Nursing Hospital in Dalseo-gu, was transferred to Kyungpook National University Hospital after being confirmed positive on the 19th. He had underlying conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia.
At around 7:25 a.m. that day, COVID-19 confirmed patient B (88) also died at Daegu Medical Center. Patient B, who was confirmed positive on the 5th, was reported to have hypertension and diabetes.
Earlier, at around 3:50 a.m., another confirmed patient C (86) died at Daegu Medical Center. He was transferred to Daegu Medical Center after being confirmed positive on the 18th while hospitalized at Daesil Nursing Hospital. He was known to have hypertension and dementia.
