The opening started with the appearance of Kwangsoo. While teasing Ji Seokjin, who had received a penalty for coming in last place last week, the members were genuinely happy to see Kwangsoo looking healthy with crutches. Yoo Jae-suk said, "I'm glad you can walk with crutches," and Kwangsoo warmly shared, "Ji Seokjin hyung often called me when I was in the hospital."
Following Kwangsoo, this week's real guest was Kang Daniel. Kang Daniel showcased his new song with smooth dance moves and immediately joined the games. The first game was a family race where the three moms became team leaders. They looked at the ideal child each mom wanted on the doors and entered the room they thought suited them to complete missions and become a family.
Room 101 was for visually outstanding children, 102 for smart children, and 201 for children who eat well. Actress Hwang Younghee welcomed children in 101, Park Mison in 102, and Lee Ilhwa in 201. They had to complete a total of three missions with the children to become a family.
Park Mison became a family first with Haha, Kim Jongkook, and Song Jihyo. Then Hwang Younghee formed a family with Jeon Somin, Kang Daniel, and Lee Kwangsoo, while Lee Ilhwa teamed up with Yoo Jae-suk, Yang Sechan, and Ji Seokjin. Jae-suk, looking at Ji Seokjin who is older than Lee Ilhwa, said, "It's so frustrating that Seokjin hyung is the mom to Ilhwa nuna," and Park Mison joked, "There are children who look older than their moms," causing laughter.
The next game was the "Giving One More Rice Cake to the Unloved Child Race" played among families. In each round, the last-place team received the most rice cakes, and the final ranking was determined by weighing the rice cakes. The team with the least weight of rice cakes became first place.
First, in the order of team selection, Park Mison's team received 1 Garaetteok (rice cake stick), Lee Ilhwa's team got 2, and Hwang Younghee's team got 3. Following the production team's instruction to distribute rice cakes to the unloved child, Park Mison gave hers to Haha, saying he was the most reliable. Lee Ilhwa entrusted one each to Yang Sechan and Ji Seokjin. Yoo Jae-suk happily said, "I feel like mom loves me the most." Hwang Younghee distributed one each to Lee Kwangsoo, Jeon Somin, and Kang Daniel.
After a satisfying meal of Chinese food, the members played Yang Sechan's game. It was a game to guess the character written on their hats. The first players were Yang Sechan, Song Jihyo, and Lee Kwangsoo. Lee Kwangsoo wore a hat labeled "Charlie Chaplin," Song Jihyo "Hong Gil-dong," and Yang Sechan "Bong Joon-ho," and they began asking questions.
After asking about occupation, nationality, clothing, etc., Song Jihyo was the first to guess "Hong Gil-dong," exciting the members. When asked how she guessed it, Song Jihyo said she got a hint from Yang Sechan saying "he likes arm sleeves." Then Sechan and Kwangsoo continued asking questions to avoid last place. Given hints that they appeared on SBS and YTN, Yang Sechan answered "Yang Joon-il," but after the hint about making movies, he immediately guessed "Bong Joon-ho," confirming Kwangsoo as last place.
Hwang Younghee handed over the 4 rice cakes Kwangsoo received directly to him, causing him despair. Park Mison kept hers, and Lee Ilhwa gave rice cakes to Ji Seokjin, who did not even play the game, drawing complaints from Ji Seokjin.
The final race was a showdown between Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Jongkook, and Kang Daniel. Their given words were "Park Mison," "Samjangbeopsa (Tripitaka)," and "Thanos." Kang Daniel asked questions like which country the person is from, their occupation, usual clothing, and if they are an alien, then easily guessed "Thanos." He said he recognized it from Kim Jongkook's mention of "sleeveless." Between Jongkook and Jae-suk, Jongkook guessed "Samjangbeopsa" first, making Yoo Jae-suk last place.
The final mission was the mom's back-smashing game. Players had to find name tags of the children hidden around, stick them on their backs, and when the mom slapped their back, the child whose name tag was hit had to receive rice cakes as a penalty. Only moms could remove the moms' name tags. In this game, Kwangsoo, who couldn't run, had to cut the rice cakes alone, and every time a name tag was found, the team had to take as many rice cakes as Kwangsoo cut.
Hwang Younghee was attacked twice by Lee Ilhwa, Yang Sechan, and Ji Seokjin because she kept wandering alone. Seeing Lee Ilhwa's team attacking Hwang Younghee, Park Mison's team also succeeded in removing Hwang Younghee's name tag, leaving her flustered.
During the game, Jeon Somin asked the production team, "Is this a team game or an individual game?" The production team replied, "For moms, it's a team game, but for members, it's individual," and Jeon Somin showed Lee Kwangsoo's name tag from her chest, prompting Kwangsoo to say, "You were always like that."
Due to Yoo Jae-suk's mischief, Kwangsoo cut a huge amount of rice cakes that would come back to him, putting him in danger of last place. Then Ji Seokjin, who found Jeon Somin's name tag, approached Kwangsoo and persuaded him to give the rice cakes to Somin by showing her name tag. Lee Kwangsoo showed passion by cutting with his hands and even biting with his mouth, successfully giving the rice cakes to Somin.
When the rice cakes were finally weighed, Park Mison's team had the lightest weight and took first place, while Hwang Younghee's team came in last. Individually, Lee Kwangsoo and Jeon Somin had the most rice cakes. After weighing, Jeon Somin was last place individually.
First-place team Park Mison drew a lucky draw but unfortunately got a miss. Last-place Jeon Somin had to be splashed with a cup of water poured by a mom from another team, not her own. When Lee Kwangsoo teased Jeon Somin beside her, she splashed water on him. Lee Kwangsoo said, "Now I feel like I've really come to Running Man," causing laughter.
Feeling sorry for Jeon Somin, Park Mison poured a cup of water on her but accidentally poured it on Lee Kwangsoo instead. After being splashed twice, Lee Kwangsoo protested, "Was that a mistake?"
