[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] As Jo Mo, known as 'Doctor,' was arrested on charges of distributing sexually exploitative obscene materials in a Telegram chatroom, more than one million people have agreed to a Blue House petition demanding the disclosure of personal information of all users who participated in the chatroom.

On the 22nd, a post titled "We want the personal information of all Telegram Nth Room members to be disclosed" was uploaded on the 'Blue House National Petition' platform. As of 9 a.m. that day, 1.02 million people had agreed to the petition.

The petitioner stated that punishing only the administrators and suppliers is useless, saying, "There are consumers, and unless the purchase behavior of consumers is punished, it will definitely recur. Please disclose the list of 260,000 criminals who participated in the 'Nth Room,' including where they live and who they are."

They also emphasized, "In the face of inhumane and unfilial crimes, I earnestly ask that the protection of criminals' human rights does not become an obstacle to disclosing the list."

On the 18th, a petition titled "Please disclose the personal information of the Telegram Nth Room suspects and put them on the photo line" received 1.65 million agreements as of that day.

Earlier, the police arrested Jo on the 16th of this month. The 'Doctor's Room' appeared in September last year and is considered the origin of the so-called 'Nth Room' case, where sexually exploitative materials were shared and distributed in Telegram chatrooms. He is accused of deceiving victims by using part-time jobs as bait to steal their personal information, obtaining nude photos, and filming and distributing sexually exploitative materials.

The police plan to hold a 'Personal Information Disclosure Review Committee' composed of three internal members and four external members to decide whether to disclose Jo's personal information.
