Seoul 'Urban Youth Local Living Recruitment' Switches to One-on-One Online Interviews

Safe and On-Schedule Progress Even Amid COVID-19 Situation

Seoul 'Urban Youth Local Living Recruitment' Switches to One-on-One Online Interviews The scene of NextLocal's mid-term performance sharing meeting held via video conferencing system from the 10th to the 12th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 22nd that it will conduct online interviews over three days from the 23rd to the 25th for the regional win-win 'Clean Region Project (2020 Urban Youth Regional Win-Win Employment Project),' where regional companies nationwide hire Seoul youth.

Despite concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), about 200 youths and 150 companies will conduct one-on-one video interviews to ensure the hiring process proceeds safely.

Previously, due to increasing concerns about the regional spread of COVID-19, the project changed the originally planned offline corporate briefings in four regional zones to a 'real-time briefing using YouTube' format on the 11th.

More than 150 company representatives nationwide and Seoul youth seeking to gain experience at these companies attended the online briefing. The youths asked specific job-related questions about working conditions, company atmosphere, accommodations, etc., and company representatives responded online.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to continue this project despite the prolonged COVID-19 situation and is considering conducting the scheduled orientation, workshops, and launch ceremonies in a non-face-to-face manner instead of in crowded spaces. The social contribution activities of the youths participating in the project will also be rescheduled to after June.

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Clean Region Project Operation Secretariat (070-4333-2100) or the Seoul Metropolitan Government Regional Win-Win Economy Division (02-2133-4453~4, 4459).

Meanwhile, the startup support project 'Next Local,' which discovers and connects startup items in regional sites nationwide, held an online video mid-term performance sharing meeting from the 10th to the 12th, with 86 participants from 42 youth teams.

Kim Ui-seung, Director of Seoul's Economic Policy Office, said, "To safely and efficiently carry out the Clean Region Project, where regional companies hire Seoul youth, we introduced video interviews and online briefings. We will operate all processes, including pre-education and field deployment, safely and thoroughly so that this project can serve as a foundation for the recovery of the depressed regional economy."
