[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Hyesoo] On the 21st, SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama "Hyena" depicted Yoon Hee-jae (played by Joo Ji-hoon) showing jealousy between client Kevin Jung (played by Kim Jae-cheol) and Jung Geum-ja (played by Kim Hye-soo).
Recognized for their skills through the D&T case, Jung Geum-ja and Yoon Hee-jae, along with their team members, took on a new case. This case involved the global private equity fund APion covertly acquiring Gnosis Pharmaceuticals, and it was directly instructed by another representative of Song & Kim, Kim Min-joo (played by Kim Ho-jung).
Kevin Jung, the head of APion’s Korea branch and the client, showed more than just professional interest in Jung Geum-ja. He designated Jung Geum-ja as his global escort to help him adapt to Korea, and she readily accepted. Sensing the atmosphere between the two, Yoon Hee-jae became jealous.
Using Jung Geum-ja’s secretary Lee Ji-eun (played by Oh Kyung-hwa), Yoon Hee-jae tracked Jung Geum-ja’s location via GPS and encountered her while she was assisting Kevin Jung with his son’s elementary school enrollment at Kevin’s request. There, they witnessed school violence among chaebol children, leading to another case.
Yoon Hee-jae, who took on the defense of the perpetrator in the witnessed school violence, was put in an awkward position upon learning that the victim’s child’s lawyer was Ma Seok-gu (played by Song Young-kyu), also from Song & Kim. In the first negotiation, Ma Seok-gu seemed to favor the victim, but Yoon Hee-jae discovered that the case stemmed not from simple violence but from bullying. This twist allowed Yoon Hee-jae to successfully outmaneuver Ma Seok-gu.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team focused all efforts on gathering information for the Gnosis acquisition. While staking out near a barbecue restaurant close to Gnosis Pharmaceuticals, they learned from Gnosis employees that the company’s true owner was a cult group.
Additionally, Jung Geum-ja uncovered from Kevin Jung the reason why APion was targeting Gnosis Pharmaceuticals. However, Yoon Hee-jae suddenly appeared at that moment, causing a disruption in Jung Geum-ja’s plan.
The 9th episode of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama "Hyena," aired on March 20, recorded viewership ratings of 11.5% for Part 1 and 13% for Part 2 (Nielsen Korea/Seoul metropolitan area), ranking first in its time slot.
