[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] NH Nonghyup Financial Group held a video conference on the 19th with 17 sales headquarters nationwide, including Daegu and Gyeongbuk, to discuss the response situation related to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
At the meeting, Kim Kwang-soo, Chairman of Nonghyup Financial, listened to the on-site atmosphere in each region and shared the response status by region. In particular, he thoroughly checked various procedures such as loan application and processing status through dedicated COVID-19 damage counters, consultation and guarantee screening periods, and cooperation status with regional credit guarantee foundations, focusing on the loan support status for small business owners and SMEs.
Chairman Kim emphasized at the meeting, “The hardships of SMEs and small business owners are increasing due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation. Timing is more important than ever, and we must accelerate financial support to the extent that they can feel it.”
He also actively listened to on-site difficulties and suggestions, and instructed that any necessary improvements, such as increasing limits and additional placement of loan officers for faster support, be immediately reflected in operations.
Nonghyup Financial supported loans totaling 271 billion KRW, including 224 billion KRW in new funds for SMEs and small business owners, as well as extensions of deadlines and interest payment deferrals. By region, 30 billion KRW was allocated to Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas, and by industry, 123 billion KRW was allocated to related sectors such as food service, travel, and accommodation.
