[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Customs Service announced on the 19th that it will provide special tax administration support to export companies located in Daegu City and Gyeongsan City, Bonghwa County, and Cheongdo County in Gyeongbuk, which were recently declared special disaster areas.
The special tax administration support allows eligible companies to receive benefits such as an extension of the payment deadline or installment payments for up to 12 months without collateral upon submission of a payment plan.
In addition, scheduled customs inspections will be temporarily suspended, and even companies currently undergoing inspections can request a postponement of the inspection date.
Furthermore, for companies in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, the Customs Service plans to allow refund applications without documents and provide refunds on the same day of application. Companies with arrears will also be temporarily permitted to clear customs, and enforcement actions such as property seizure will be postponed.
For more detailed information regarding the special tax administration support, inquiries can be made through the Daegu Regional Customs Office Taxpayer Audit Division and the respective regional customs offices.
