Donation Delivered for Kindergarten Children in Jongam-dong... To Be Used to Ensure No Residents Are Left Out of the 5-Day Mask System
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is receiving helping hands from various sectors, including donations from basic livelihood security recipients, to revive the vitality that has been dwindling due to the spread of COVID-19 and the resulting restrained lifestyle.
Recently, early in the morning at the Jongam-dong Community Center, two children handed over a letter tightly held in their small hands along with donations they had prepared by breaking open their piggy banks.
These children, concerned about the health of their peers more than themselves, asked for masks to be provided to children in need in their neighborhood, gaining strength to overcome COVID-19 from their heartfelt concern.
A representative from the Jongam-dong Community Center stated, “The donations from the children will be delivered to low-income families with children who are unable to obtain masks despite the implementation of the five-day mask distribution system,” and added, “We hope that the children’s compassion for neighbors who are struggling more than themselves will lead to participation from various social groups.”
