Kamco Introduces Remote Work for Call Center... Strengthening COVID-19 Prevention Measures

[Asia Economy Reporter Haeyoung Kwon] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) announced on the 17th that it will further strengthen safety measures to prevent the risk of mass infection among customer support center employees due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

First, counseling staff will be organized into four teams operating under a system of 'one team working from home, three teams performing counseling duties.' To reduce density within the workplace, seats have been dispersed to maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters between counselors, partitions have been adjusted to a height of over 65 cm, and staggered lunch hours have been implemented to enhance infection prevention measures.

Additionally, the following measures are being implemented: ▲establishment of a transmission system between the emergency response headquarters and the customer support center ▲weekly building disinfection ▲individual temperature checks twice daily and ventilation three times daily ▲restriction of general public access to offices and operation of thermal imaging cameras ▲provision of preventive supplies such as thermometers and hand sanitizers.

KAMCO plans to provide services that allow normal customer response even in emergency situations by informing customers through the website and ARS to minimize inconvenience such as increased counseling wait times and reduced call quality during the implementation of safety measures.

Shin Heung-sik, Head of KAMCO's Management Headquarters, stated, "Ensuring that KAMCO customer support center counseling staff, who work on the front lines of civil complaints counseling, have a safe working environment is the way to minimize customer inconvenience." He added, "KAMCO is actively considering environmental improvements such as separating work locations by counseling tasks and expanding office space to fundamentally improve the working conditions of counseling staff."
