"Overcoming COVID-19" HiteJinro Supports Vulnerable Groups with Water Supply Following Rent Reduction

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] HiteJinro announced on the 17th that it will provide emergency support with bottled water and snacks for vulnerable groups experiencing difficulties in daily life. They plan to sequentially provide 18,000 bottles of water and 2,500 Baeksulgi rice cakes to 2,000 people, including residents of shantytowns in Seoul and homeless people at the Seoul Station 'Warm Filling Center.'

HiteJinro learned that the shantytowns and homeless feeding centers, which they have supported for eight years, are facing difficulties due to the contraction of the local community caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), including the absence of volunteers, and decided to provide emergency support.

HiteJinro continues to support the local community in various ways to help overcome COVID-19. Participating in the 'Good Landlord Movement,' they decided to fully waive rent for 17 locations in Seoul, Busan, Gangwon, and Jeonju from March to June for four months. Additionally, they provided a total of 1.2 billion KRW, including masks, hand sanitizers, and other quarantine supplies, bottled water, beverages, and donations to the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.

A HiteJinro official stated, "We hope to be of some help to those going through difficult times due to COVID-19," and added, "We plan to continue supporting necessary supplies for shantytowns and others through ongoing consultations with social welfare organizations."
