SK C&C Collaborates with Global Companies to Develop Intelligent Work Robots

Automation Anywhere and RPA-Based Digital Transformation Project MOU

SK C&C Collaborates with Global Companies to Develop Intelligent Work Robots

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] SK C&C has partnered with a global leading company to develop intelligent work robots specialized for systems in key industries such as manufacturing, finance, telecommunications, and services.

On the 17th, SK C&C announced that it signed an 'MOU for RPA-based Digital Transformation (DT) Business Cooperation' with Automation Anywhere, the global No. 1 company in the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) field.

Automation Anywhere is a global leading company that provides over 1.7 million work robots to more than 3,500 companies located in over 90 countries worldwide, driving business innovation.

This agreement was promoted to combine SK C&C's comprehensive digital platform and system construction capabilities based on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, and big data with Automation Anywhere's RPA technology capabilities, and to develop an 'intelligent RPA system model' optimized for the characteristics of industry-specific tasks.

Companies that previously introduced RPA, which was limited to automating mechanical repetitive tasks such as simple data entry, settlement, and purchasing, are recently reviewing intelligent RPA systems and promoting the construction of digital work systems combined with AI. Intelligent RPA systems refer to systems that will lead innovation across corporate tasks in key industry-specific core systems, including ▲advanced big data analytics ▲business intelligence for multi-source data analysis ▲AI-based support for core corporate tasks.

Going forward, the two companies plan to develop an 'optimal RPA application model for each core task' that automates repetitive tasks traditionally handled based on the analysis of each company's work characteristics. This includes automation in the ERP area commonly used by companies as well as automation in specialized work areas for each industry.

Initially, the two companies will develop an RPA system in the digital system construction project for large global plants and construction fields and apply it to SK Engineering & Construction's procurement tasks. They expect that the RPA system developed in Korea will help pioneer the digital transformation system construction market not only domestically but also globally.

Lee Sang-guk, Head of the Telecommunications & Services Digital Division at SK C&C, said, "The intelligent RPA system model will perfectly accommodate the complex and demanding core systems of major Korean companies and enhance the completeness of digital systems. We will share automation cases of SK Group affiliates and implement a platform that can utilize them, promoting market development both domestically and globally."

Lee Young-soo, Head of Automation Anywhere Korea, said, "Based on differentiated work automation technology, abundant implementation experience, and various domestic and international adoption cases, we will create successful work automation cases optimized for Korean companies through close cooperation with SK C&C."

Meanwhile, the two companies plan to build an intelligent RPA industry ecosystem by spreading verified successful work automation cases to partners and promote social value (SV) creation activities such as work automation technology education for the youth.
