Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Visits Livestock Hygiene and Quarantine Support Headquarters Chungnam Telephone Surveillance Center

Lee Jae-wook, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, visited the Animal Hygiene and Quarantine Support Headquarters Chungnam Provincial Office Telephone Surveillance Center in Asan, Chungnam on the 16th to inspect the COVID-19 quarantine management status.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] On the 16th, Lee Jaewook, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, visited the Animal Hygiene and Quarantine Support Headquarters Chungnam Provincial Headquarters Telephone Surveillance Center located in Asan, Chungnam, to inspect the COVID-19 quarantine management status.

The Quarantine Headquarters Telephone Surveillance Center has taken thorough measures to prevent the occurrence of COVID-19, including ▲forming shift work teams from the 12th, with 50% of employees working from home on alternate days ▲maximizing the distance between employees' workstations to significantly reduce office work density ▲conducting daily personal disinfection and office ventilation ▲operating a 'Comprehensive Disinfection Day' every Wednesday ▲and using entrance CCTV cameras and temperature measuring devices to check temperatures twice daily, in the morning and afternoon, ensuring thorough disinfection and monitoring.

Vice Minister Lee encouraged the hard work of the Chungnam Telephone Surveillance Center staff on site. Currently, the Telephone Surveillance Center employs about 144 people nationwide in 9 cities and provinces (22 in Chungnam), who check for clinical symptoms of livestock infectious diseases and promote quarantine measures to approximately 290,000 livestock farming households.

He also urged the staff to be especially attentive to COVID-19 prevention by thoroughly following personal guidelines such as using hand sanitizer and wearing masks.
