[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Lim Young-woong from TV Chosun's 'Mr. Trot' has ascended to the throne of the 'Trot King' by winning the Jin (眞) title.
On the 14th, Lim Young-woong received the highest score in the comprehensive evaluation combining the master total score (50%), national support voting (20%), and real-time national voting (30%) during the 'Mr. Trot' finals broadcast. Lim Young-woong received 1,374,748 votes (25.32%) out of the 5,428,900 valid votes cast in the real-time national voting, earning 1,200 points.
The master total score was 1,890 points, the national support vote was 800 points, making a total of 3,890 points.
During the broadcast, Lim Young-woong said, "The day of the finals live broadcast on the 12th was my father's death anniversary. I feel sorry for leaving my mother alone, but I will think of this as a gift from my father. I thank my father. I also thank the viewers who have supported me for a long time, the masters who gave me good advice, and my mother and grandmother who gave birth to me."
Lim Young-woong will receive a prize of 100 million won, custom-made shoes, a large SUV, a massage chair, and a new song composed by Jo Young-soo.
The second place, Seon (善), went to Young Tak. Young Tak received 1,882 points from the masters, 780 points from the national support vote, and 863.30 points (989,020 votes) from the real-time national voting.
Young Tak said, "This is the first time I have received such a big award while doing music. I thank everyone who supported me with one heart."

Lee Chan-won said, "It is an honor just to be among the final seven, and it is even more honorable to take the position of Mi (3rd place)."
In the finals that day, Jang Min-ho, Kim Hee-jae, Kim Ho-joong, Jung Dong-won, Young Tak, Lee Chan-won, and Lim Young-woong competed for the final Jin (眞), Seon (善), and Mi (美) titles.
The 'Mr. Trot' production team urgently scheduled a live broadcast to announce the final winner, Jin (眞). Previously, 'Mr. Trot' had planned to tally real-time text votes and announce the results immediately during the live finals broadcast on the 12th, but the server was overwhelmed, delaying the announcement and ending the show without revealing the winner.
The final broadcast recorded a viewership rating of 35.7% (according to Nielsen Korea), breaking its own record.
The 'Mr. Trot' production team said, "After a production period of about a year, a broadcast period of three months, and the final journey of the live finals announcement, which was the most important for the fairness of the results, 'Mr. Trot' has come to a grand conclusion. The driving force that allowed us to run tirelessly for a long time was the generous support and encouragement from the viewers."
They added, "Every time we heard that people were happy because of 'Mr. Trot,' the production team felt immense pride. We were also happy to bring joy to the nation. Once again, we sincerely thank all the viewers."
On the 15th, Lim Young-woong posted on his Instagram, "The grand journey has come to an end. Thanks to the boundless love you all have sent, I have earned the honor of being the first Mr. Trot Jin." He shared, "I never imagined such a moment would come in my life. I always thought such a special moment was someone else's story."
He continued, "To my people around me, the Young-woong Era family, and all the viewers who cheered for me, this position was created by you. I will work hard and humbly so as never to betray your support and expectations even for a moment."
